Which Video Editing Software will be the Best for ACER ASPIRE 5745-6492 SERIES laptop?

Hi there,

Wishes for Tom's Guide Forum.

I am a Graphic Designer & Want to do some Video Editing to become a professional in Multimedia Editing platforms.

But I am so confused that with which Video Editor should I start without any up gradation to my current system configuration? Frankly speaking I can't be able to do any upgrade at this time.

So would you please help me with any suggestion with this issue? Below is my current available System Configuration :

- ACER ASPIRE 5745-6492 SERIES laptop
- Model : Aspire 5745
- Windows current Experience Index 3.6
- Processor : Intel Core i3 M 380 @ 2.53GHz
- Installed memory (RAM) : 4.00 GB (3.68 GB usable)
- Graphics : Intel HD on Board with 128MB dedicated graphics memory
- 500 GB HDD
- OS : Windows 7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1, 64-bit

I currently don't have my PC working to refer an article I've checked some time ago. But what kind of editing tasks are you aiming at? I can only think of Blender, Vidiot, Free Video Editor, t@b ZS4; of which only 'Blender' and 't@b ZS4' were mentioned on the article. Try googling 'Best free Video Editors'.

Thanks for your valuable suggestion with some useful & necessary links. They helped me understand a lot about my problem & solution.

As you asked for my type of editing aim, I can only say that I dream to edit a complete Hollywood movie with lot of visual effects! It sounds quiet weird, isn't it?

But this is the fact. Maybe it's a foolish thinking with a lower capability, but I think dare to dream is not a crime. So I did it.

Anyway, I'm just trying to keep me in touch with some video editing tasks (whatever it is) aiming to build up myself as a Professional, Creative Video Editor. Unfortunately at this time I am unable to arrange a Powerful Computer System to edit videos with full functionality & creativity.

I want to use a video editing software which could help me in near future with the Full Functional editing when I will be able to. I mean if I have to use 'Adobe Premier / After Effects' or 'Cyberlink Power' or 'Corel x10' or others like them for professional editing then I have to learn their basics or at least become familiar with their workflow, interface etc.

I don't know that either I could properly explained my desire to you or not, but you show me the reality which might be possible. But still I'll be dreaming. I'll be very glad if you suggest me some more to stick myself into the right track.

That's all I can think of, right now. Keep dreaming GOOD, and put it to the best of DEEDS/WORK. Start whenever you get the chance - now is a good time, as well - and don't stop. KEEP WHETTING YOU BRAIN/SKILLS!
