Its weird that they are downplaying the seriousness of the Whipple procedure. It's a common procedure for cancer at a specific spot on the pancreas. It is a pretty invasive procedure and the poor guy is missing most of his stomach and about 1/2 of his intestinal tract. What's left is more or less re-arranged.
