Yeah you're right $1000 is a lot of money, maybe not for a brand new laptop, but I was just wondering. These laptops have core i7, good ram... but they are a lot cheaper than similar laptops being sold.

I should buy it? Btw, are the GPYU cards always soldered on? I originally wanted something from Sony, but too expensive for the same thing!
I'm also looking at this one from Best Buy, about the same price, but has an awesome GPU (GTX 260M)! Only problem is it has a core 2 duo instead, which should impact me A LOT for multitasking. Opinions please? Thanks a lot. I'd love to multitask, but I'd also like to run games like a pro... the 230m probably won't do
. I know how to build my desktops, but laptops confuse the hell out of me.

It is practically the same as far as I can see, but they downgraded the CPU for a GPU upgrade. It's only a 2.26 GHZ Core 2 Duo instead of an i7 that had 4 cores and is 1.6-2.8 GHZ. Seem's like a major loss... but idk.
