why cant i use my laptop while it is charging

when my laptop battery is running low i cannot use it while it is charging as it switches off

It could be that the battery is old or worn out and is unable to keep its charge when it is on low battery.

Hi, maybe the adapter is faulty, not giving enough current to charge the battery and using the laptop at the same time. To check this, remove the battery, can you use the laptop with just the adapter?
