why do i have a graphics score of 4.5 on windows experience index?

I have a hp pavilion 15 e015tx notebook.My graphics score on windows experience index is 4.5 and gaming graphics score is 6.1.I have a AMD Radeon HD 8670M 1 GB 3d card installed.

My configurations are

Processor-Intel Core i5-3230M 2.60 Ghz
Ram-4GB DDR3
Hardisk-1TB
Graphic Card-1 GB AMD Radeon HD 8670M
Windows-Windows 8

I don't really get what you're asking. You have a 4.5 score because that's the value given by Microsoft to whatever your score was on their benchmark test. If you're asking because you think that's low, then I'd say that's about right as the 8670m isn't that good.

Yes i m asking because i think its low but I am not talking about gaming graphics score but the desktop graphic performance score.Previously i had a dell inspiron with same configurations but it had a desktop graphic performance score of 5.9.The question is why 2 laptops with same configuration have different scores?

are you comparing a laptop to a desktop, because if you are then the desktop is obviously going to have more performance

Windows 8 uses a different scale to windows 7. The windows 8 scale goes higher, meaning if you had the exact same system, your score on windows 8 would be lower than it would on windows 7. Nothing is wrong, that's just the way they do it now.

yeah benji i know that windows 8 uses a different scale than windows 7.I read that the scores differ by factor of 0.1 to 0.6 in windows 7 and windows 8 but here the difference is 1.4,that's why i m asking

have u check that your laptop is using the intel integrated graphic?

So meaning to say the rating is for the intel hd 4000 instead of the amd card.

Its because the HD 4000 Is not a very good card. I would say its about 4.5 but the 8670mm is much better and should get around 5.0 - 5.5

I have ASUS K55VD-SX378H. My system score is 4.4 because of Graphics. My graphics score is 4.4. I don´t know why, because I have nVidia GeForce 660M 2 GB. Why have I so small score?
