Why does my cassette player make a clicking sound

when i insert a cassette into my car's player it makes a clicking sound

the clicking sound is the mechanism sticking, it thinks the tape has ended. the deck needs to be pulled out and serviced, or replaced with a CD deck.
car cassette decks as a whole are not that reliable, think CD replacement.
