Why doesn't my tennis channel...

always record shows having "tennis" in the description? For instance, my
Replay tapes most shows with tennis in the data (such as World Team
Tennis, which I ironically wish it wouldn't tape) but I had to manually
tape the semifinals and finals of the US Open, even though these shows
were listed in the guide as "Tennis." Why is this?

Did you set it to search descriptions as well as titles? You can
check/change this after the channel is set up. In the Replay guide,
select the channel, then "Change search options". Select "Done"
(since "tennis" is right). See if "Descriptions" has "yes" by it.

As for skipping "World Team Tennis", that would be a useful option. It
just isn't there. It would be nice to have a search that makes sure
some words are not there, like "tennis .NOT. world team". That would
work this way:

"also ran" skipped ("tennis" not found)
"tennis finals" recorded
"world team tennis" skipped (contains excluded phrase)

I have this problem with some channels (recording "enterprise" but
don't want "black enterprise report") and have set DVArchive to
periodically delete the unwanted shows.

Thanks, I'll check on this when I get home. It would be great to be able
to exclude things, like World Team Tennis (or whatever). It would also be
nice to be able to watch a show, delete it, then never see it again (I
tape Good Eats, and it'll repeatedly tape shows I've already seen).

That's be a good feature too. I get tired of these repeats (sometimes
even the same day). Or, how about a "already watched" flag (so you
wouldn't need to delete shows after watching, for this purpose).

That would work, too.
