Question Why is my monitor flickering with white pixles?

I just got an MSI g27c5 and when i plug it in my laptop through hdmi, and i go above 60hz in the display section, my screen flickers on and off and there are white pixels also flickering on the screen. My laptop's refreshrate is 60hz so I was thinking that was the problem, but I dont know.

Are you connecting it to a monitor that can run at higher than 60hz? What resolution are you using? Did you check with MSI support for the model to see what the HDMI port can output?
