Why wont my pc connect to my tv With hdmi

Im using a desktop, on a tv instead of a monitor. They are linked through hdmi cable however it wont display any image. How do i make it work on. I playing games on a £500 build yet seems my computer maybe to powerful for the screen or somethig

is the HDMI calbe and your GPU working properly?
