Wi-Fi symbol and letter i next to it?

I have a galaxy S6 and noticed a couple of days ago that my Wi-Fi at home is not connecting to my cell. I've had the Wi-Fi for a long time as well as my cell and never encountered this before. What I did notice is a the Wi-Fi symbol and the letter i next to it. I have googled and can't find what that means. Does anyone know? Could it be the Android version.

I took a screenshot of it and expanded it to look at it clearlu and it's the letter "i" wish I could upload and share it.

Not sure if my reply went through, but to answer your question it's the letter "i" took a screenshot and expanded it and it's clearly an i.

Also, I reset tne network settings on cell, then i turned cell off, turned cell on put in the wifi password and it connected and few minutes latet it gave me autjentification errot. I saw the wifi icon and next to it was letter "i"
