I have a shop in my backyard that is probably 140 to 150 feet from my router. What would be my best option to reach out to the shop?

Buy one of these:

If you're in a rural area and there aren't neighboring WiFi networks (and you don't need speeds faster than about 100 Mbps), get the 2.4 GHz version. If the area you're in has a lot of 2.4 GHz interference (this includes microwave ovens) and your router supports 5 GHz, get the 5 GHz version.

Contrary to what some people will tell you, you don't need two - they boost transmission as well as reception. Two will let you create a wireless link over ridiculous distances like 1-10 miles. For a hop of 150 feet, just one will do fine.

Set it up at the shop, outside any metal walls or roofing, and point it at your home router. You can run the network cable coming from it through the wall of the shop to plug in devices inside. Be sure to read the instructions - it doesn't work out the box if you just plug the cable into your computer.

Associate it with your home WiFi SSID. If you only want Internet access, put it into Router/Station mode (NAT enabled). If you want to access other computers on your home network, you'll need to play with the bridge/station mode. If you need to share it with multiple devices, add a switch.

Do not use Access Point mode or SOHO router mode - those are not what you want. Unless you want to use it as a WiFi repeater. A repeater will cut your bandwidth in half. But if that is what you want, here's someone who did it.
