A huge storm is comming for a couple of days and i was wondering if a lightning stroke my house, will it damage my laptop IF it was plugged ?

Solution
Yes, effects of (nearby!) lightning strikes are still very much unpredictable. If the thunderstorm is miles and miles away then it is relatively safer as the effects would have passed thru many safety devices already.
most pc damage is from strike going down the phone/cable modem lines in a home. on a laptop the ac brick would fry first. as with any pc your better off to turn it off if you can. if you have to use it for work....put it on a table and use the battery as long as you can. just dont drain the battery if the power goes out you want to be able to turn the laptop off.
