will installing cynogenmod unlock the imei

would sound like a bad/stupid idea!!
I have a LG tribute 2 and want to unlock the IMEI! Will installing Cynogenmod unloack the imei? or will rooting the help??
Also I do not have the unlock code!!

Do you mean the IMEI is blocked by the cellphone network (because it's been reported lost/stolen)? If so, no, nothing will fix that other than talking to them and getting it unblocked.

Or do you mean that it's SIM-locked to only one provider? Flashing CM won't fix that, but I believe re-flashing the radio firmware will.

Yup.. IMEI is blocked by the SIM Provider. how to re-flash the radio firmware? I want to try it for the sake of learning. please help me
