Will this laptop be sufficient for a computer engineering major student,should I sell it or upgrade it?

I have an 15.6 inch two year old laptop Asus X551MA

The specs are

2.42 GHz Intel Pentium Quad Core N3520 Processor
2GB DDR3
500GB Hard Drive
15.6 inch Screen
Windows 10

Its a pretty weak laptop. But will it be useful if I upgrade the ram to 4gb, its maximum capacity?


Should I sell it and buy a laptop like this.

max out your ram to 4gigs as old cpu is a quad core compared to new cpu which is dual core or look for another laptop with quad core cpu & upgradeable past 4gigs.
