Trying to boot laptop from windows 10 media creation tool usb, after an interrupted clean install, but after the HP splash screen, it only shows a lit black screen with no cursor, UNLESS I disconnect the HDD. With the HDD disconnected I can access the advanced options, command line, but as soon as I connect the HDD, the screen goes black.

(Not sure if this is posted in the correct category)

Were you able to solve this problem? I'm now having exactly the same thing even though the boot sequence is changed to make the USB the 1st priority.
