Windows 8 Tablet suggestions

I'm looking to buy a windows 8 tablet so i can play some Steam games on the go, nothing high-end just like some indie games and the lower-end graphics ones like Faster than Light and Civ5.
But im not sure what specs can handle these games, so i would appreciate some help. My budget is around $500 and any suggestion for a tablet would be awesome!

Bear in mind that often tablets wont support Steam as they often use a completely different operating system to laptops and PCs. The only tablet that I can think of would be the Microsoft Surface but that retails for US$600+. There is a cheaper version but that uses a watered down version of Windows 8 called RT. If you want to be playing games using Steam on the move, then I'd recommend spending $500 on a laptop, its likely you'll get more power for your money. Hope thats helped!

EDIT: Also remember that most tablets only have touch screens and games like FTL and Civ5 wont be optimized for use with a touch screen
