Wired Mic -> Wireless query

Does anyone make a belt pack transmitter that a wired balanced/Lo-Z mic output
can be plugged into? I'm assuming there's a corresponding receiver, of course.
Or,
Does anyone make an antenna that plugs into the XLRM balanced/Lo-Z output of a
regular (wired) mic? Again I'm assuming corresponding receiver.

And, if it/they exist, are they any good?

The Sennheiser SKP500 G2 plug-in transmitter has worked well for me.
Other wireless manufacturers make similar products.

Looks good but, with the size and two AA's, it probably makes the mic very
bottom heavy and is quite noticeable.

AKG makes a similar product that is VERY light and inconspicuous and sounds
great. It doesn't have switchable frequencies like the Senn, but, it has
worked VERY well for me for the last year or two. No cut-outs, great sound,
and no crosstalk or interference. Great range, too.

When purchasing, make sure you pick a frequency that is free of traffic in
your area!

Sure, all of the companies that make wireless systems include a "butt plug"
in their line to do just this. Some of them make some body pack adaptors
as well.

No wireless is any good. The Lectro and Vega stuff is okay, though. Some
of the better Sennheiser stuff is usable also. All of these guys have a
butt plug in their line.

The Zaxcom stuff sounds fantastic. Their MMT would fit the bill, if the
budget allows.

Just an antenna won't do you any good, you need a transmitter. If the
plug on "butt plug" type transmitter won't work for you, an adapter
cable of XLR-F to the tx mic input connector will solve your problem.

Sure but you get what you pay for. It all depends on your requirements.
For top of the line rf performance think $2,000 and up for tx & rx.
