Wireless communication indicator

Can someone please help I have a white satellite toshiba lap top and it is failing to switch on. Every time I switch the power button on an amber light appears (I think this is called the wireless communication indicator) and the screen remains black

I would be grateful if someone could give me some advice thanks

by failing to switch on do you mean it doesnt come on at all

or it comes on but the screen is blank

Does the screen's backlight turn on? Or does there appear to be absolutely no activity whatsoever ─ no backlight, no fans, no HDD activity, etc?
