I am trying to set up an audio system for someone where it can be easily switched back and forth between two sound setups without much difficulty.

I am looking for a good set of wireless headphones that use a receiver but the receiver uses a toslink (optical cable) connection. I am also not looking to spend a lot of money for them. The ones that I have found so far are mainly RCA jack connectors and don't use toslink. (example in links below) I have seen plenty that use bluetooth but I am not looking to purchase an extra box to make it compatible with the TV.

Solution
You'll need that extra box anyway, optical or RCA.

You'' have much broader choice if you go Bluetooth route (there are plenty of Bluetooth transmitters with optical, RCA or both), or FM/infrared headphones with RCA inputs. With "Toslink" requirement you jump automatically in the middle/high end stuff, and this is not (very) cheap.

Seinheiser RS 175, 185 or 195 wireless headphones have base units with optical in for direct connection to a tv without a headphone socket.

Not sure if you found a solution but I had the same issue recentlyu and the Seinheisers were my solution.
