Hi,
I have HDTV and it has only 2 HDMI port without (ARC) and no optical too, I just recently purchased AVR how do I connect it to tv and control my BD Player, SAL/DTH, DVD, TV by plugged in all these to AVR.. with finest quality out put of Video and Audio.

I did try to connect HDMI out from AVR to HDMI in tv but it shows 'no signal' by plugging BD Player, DTH through HDMI ports to AVR accordingly.

Only way it worked BD to TV to AVR through coaxial/SPIDF but no pure HD sound effect and mainly i could not view my AVR options through TV screen..

My TV Connectivity:
AV In: 1
AV Output (RCA): 1
HDMI: 2
USB: 2
Headphone: 1
RF In: 1
Component in(Y/Pb/Pr) : 1
PC Audio Input: 1
External SPK. (L-R): 1

Solution
good, the vsx329 is a standard receiver.

bluray-> bd port on avr
avr out -> hdmi1 on tv

avr set to bd with left knob.
tv set to hdmi 1

hooked up in that manner?

have you tried turning on the avr and tv first waiting a few seconds then turning the bd on? have you tried turning on and off the avr while leaving the other two on? could be a hdmi handshake issue.

try with another source, such as your pc, laptop, console or other device hooked up to the avr to see if you have issues with just the bd player or with all devices.

hdmi arc is not required for that kind of hookup, it is only required if you are attempting to get output from the tv for audio via hdmi which would give you the best quality 5.1 from tv. since you do not have...
if you have a regular AVR (not one of those htib units) then device->avr->tv via hdmi is the correct way you should be hooking things up. make sure you have the input on the receiver set to the right input for the device you have connected and that the tv is set on the input you have the avr hooked up to.

you want the best quality? hdmi how i listed above is it. both optical and coax are compressed and will be slightly inferior.

Thanks for response
I have hooked everything according to how u have explained but still no result..TV does not have HDMI arc input instead it has only 2 HDMI ports
AVR Model: Pioneer VSX329 (hope this would help to resolve it)

hdmi arc is not required for that kind of hookup, it is only required if you are attempting to get output from the tv for audio via hdmi which would give you the best quality 5.1 from tv. since you do not have that your only options are either 2.0 uncompressed (full quality) via coax or 5.1 compressed (slightly lower quality) via coax as you had previously. for tv tuner or smart app content - the rest should be routed direct through your avr not tv.
