Taking a picture of the outside of someone's house from the street for any use is perfectly legal, at least under US law. I don't know what the people who are suing Google are complaining about.

They are suing google because they claim google went onto a private drive to take the pictures. I think it is more of a trespassing claim than privacy complaint.

Yes, but the real reason they are suing is that the photo proves the owners have done almost a hundred thousand dollars of improvments and not reported any of the work, nor had it approved by an inspector. They rebuilt/expanded the garage, put in a pool and deck and some other things. Those all increased the value of the property from about $85,000us to an estimated $200,000us. When their county auditor found out, they sued to back taxes, liened the proptery for uninspected additions, etc.

In short, the people who sue google really are upset they got caught doing something illegal, immoral or just plain embarrassing (to themselves).

It doesn't matter what the law says about anything anymore. It's usually wrong anyway. At one time it was okay to say its legal to film someone in public. But that was before it became easy to flash their photo in front of the whole world with ease. Privacy is even more precious than ever before. And I personally recommend that more and more people need to fight back against Google and the law. This world is becoming more and more fucked up every year all because of greed and the power of money. We're better off without wealth.

We might have been born naked. But our grown bodies are nothing like a baby's. Women weren't born with big breasts, a fine ass, and a body that would make a guy go erect in 5 seconds flat. There is a good reason why we stay covered up. And the amazing thing is this. Our ancestors knew better. And for thousands of years. Yet, today, people have become so damn stupid and ignorant. They don't know any better. Wisdom certainly doesn't exist in the 21st century.
