Wont charge past 6%

Hi,
so i got my computer like few months ago and today this happened- I left my computer for 10 minutes opened, and when i came back the battery was empty. i connected the charger and it charged for 6%, after 6 it stopped charging and after that battery symbol on the bottom right says (plugged in, not charging)
i dont believe that my battery is already dead?
i have lenovo thinkpad e530

This symptom is common with a dead battery.

Occasionally the software doesn't detect it correctly, in which case you can try this:
