The T series has always served me well. They are built strong and last quite a long time.

Pick the model second from the left.

Upgrading the screen to 1080p and changing the rear battery from a 3 cell to a 6 cell, and getting the memory done from them pushes the price to 1173.60.

If you want to save some money, get just the basic 4 GB of RAM and insert another stick later because their RAM upgrades are somewhat pricey, unless you couldn't be bothered to do it yourself.

its a little bit bigger screen than you want but its and ultrabook very slim and has 256gb SSD so it will be very fast plus powerful due to the core I7 hope this helps good luck on your search

You could try asus but I don't know what you mean by rugged. They will not break very easily but they are not like lenovo. You could try one of their n series if they are not too heavy for you.
