Workaround for app not letting you upload existing picture from phone? (Android)

Let say a app on android only let you take a picture and not upload existing one, is there a way to somehow "overlay" a existing picture you have to trick the app into thinking you just took a picture?

What make and model phone? What app are you now using?

What message or pop-up do you get when the picture upload fails?

You will most likely need some photo editing software to "overlay" images.

What sort of "overlaying" are you trying to do?
