working with laptop and big screen right in front

Hi , I would like to work with big two screens while in office or at home from laptop machine. the laptop screen comes in the way of big screen right in front of me , so what is the convenient model & machine arrangement , advice please !

Buy an external USB keyboard & mouse so you can then close the laptop (make sure "closing the lid" is set to "Do nothing" in Power options) - - that's what I did.
