Worth replacement for desktop?

Good day!

I'm on a quest on looking for the best gaming desktop replacement which is of course a gaming laptop. I need your opinion in this monstrous that I've found.

Good replacement if you have the $$ for it. But you can build much more powerful rig if you plan to go desktop for that money.

Desktop is too mainstream, I would like to know if how long will this lappy to stay "above" until new ones emerges.
Do you have any idea if I can run a 240hz external monitor on it?

Yes you can run 240hz monitor. But as far as new laptops are concerned, they should be on their way pretty soon with CoffeLake chips.

yes that's one more thing, I've also watched dave2d's video and he talked about the soon released of the new laptops injected with coffee lake chips by mid 2018's. Hmm, should I wait or just get this badass lappy. coz right now im only using my 1050ti strix laptop.

You can wait if you want. The CoffeLake i7-8850H will have 6core/12thread. But most probably that will be much more expensive paired with a high end GPU.

Is portability the main reason for a gaming laptop?

Other than that, gaming, I think, is best done on a desktop.

1. You get a stronger gamer for your money with desktop parts
2. A desktop can be upgraded; a laptop needs to be replaced if you ever want an upgrade.
3. A desktop lets you use larger monitors for more immersive gaming.
