would an Acer ES1-512-C685 netbook be able to play Netflix?

I heard that netbooks can't really stream Netflix, but some can. What's the verdict on this computer anyway?

You heard wrong. Streaming is one of the few things netbooks can do just fine, and it doesn't take much to stream Netflix. Will this particular netbook start to hit snags if you're trying to do a half dozen other things at the same time? Probably, but it's not exactly marketed as a powerhouse. I do think it's a little overpriced (MSRP has it at around $250) and the battery life is pretty dismal for a netbook. A Chromebook may be a cheaper, better alternative if streaming is all you want to do.
