I have an Asus k52jc laptop, which came with 2gb 1066hmz ddr3 ram. Would it be able to handle 1333mhz ram? Would it also be possible to run a 4gb stick?

yes 1333 will work

Each memory slot can hold DDR3 PC3-8500, DDR3 PC3-10600 with a maximum of 4GB per slot.
