[citation][nom]tenor77[/nom]You absolutely have a point. I've seen people leave it on the carpet or on the floor in general and it gets dirty, or a buddy -his wife loaded a bunch of crap on top of the vents and he RRoD during a deathmatch. Well that's what he claims. I think I killed him so hard it broke his console lol.[/citation]
Yeah, I cringe anytime I see an Xbox, PS3 or even a PC on the floor. Drives me nuts and sends me into lecture mode about how terrible it is to put electronics on the floor. A lot of electronics pull in air from the bottom of the unit. If it's sitting on the floor or carpet, it's just pulling in all the dust and crud that is settled on the floor, instead of fresh air.
I'd bet half or more of the 360s that go in for repairs are just so caked with dust, you'd swear it was in a room full of smokers for months on end.
Another hint for those of you who smoke, don't smoke near your expensive electronics, unless you want to ruin their lifespan or are a clean freak and clean them all out once a week. Even then, the tar and other tobacco smoke byproducts will gum up your equipment very fast.
