Xbox 360 straight to audio?

Well here's my dilemma, i've got my xbox hooked up to my monitor via HDMI cable, and the monitors built in speaker are terrible, I was wondering if there's a way that I can hook up my speakers straight to the 360, or somehow to the monitor. The monitor has no audio out, only an in.
