[citation][nom]ponchato[/nom]Wow. Just... wow. Get off the internet, forever. You are a complete moron. "Talking about something is a crime". You are a fucking idiot.[/citation]

LOL... "Under state criminal codes, which vary by state, it is an offense to knowingly utter or convey a threat to cause death or bodily harm to any person. It is also an offense to threaten to burn, destroy or damage property or threaten to kill, poison or injure an animal or bird that belongs to a person."

Ur pwned. GTFO.

He was obviously nervous about the idea. I think he was hoping to calm his nerves by telling someone. Whatever the case, it's a good thing he was caught. Killing innocent people is the most selfish act anyone can possibly conceive. Now if he was going to methodically assassinate corrupted government officials, then my friend, kudos to you.

what an idiot
to even mention names is completely idiotic
common sense eludes so many that it's perplexing to imagine how these people don't understand

[citation][nom]Regulas[/nom]I agree and the sad part is the Police State cops in the USA will throw the book at this kid and ruin his life now.[/citation]

People need to learn that you just don't joke about some things.

[citation][nom]mooka[/nom]xbox probably collecting chat logs so[/citation]
And this is why Microsoft records ALL text based messaging. I've also heard that all voice chat is recorded and kept for the required legal minimum limit, although I don't know what that term is.

This will be hashed out in court and maybe, just maybe, a few punks will stop fluffing their feathers by mouthing off thinking no one can do anything about it. They just need to play the dam game.

So I wonder what would be to blame for the exact same shooting events PRIOR TO the advent of video games. Oh that's right, BAD PARENTING. A PARENT is the one that makes a conscious decision to let their child play on the internet. I PARENT is the one that allows their child to watch South Park. A PARENT is the one who allows their children to go to certain schools and get involved in the wrong crowd. A PARENT is the one who fails epically to get involved in their child's life. Don't blame video games. Don't blame the media. Blame the parent(s). Problems start AT HOME!

[citation][nom]ponchato[/nom]How many lives would have been ruined due to a false positive? A whole fucking lot.And how many school shootings have happened since 1980? What, 4? Killing less than 200 people combined. But, drunk driving, gangs, drug cartels? Oh, no, that's not important because it can't be fixed, so we'll just kinda keep it quiet.[/citation]

Didn't say that did I

How many of you have heard people saying: I'm going to rip your head off and shove it up your ass!!
If you think about that seriously for a second....... how on earth would you go about doing something like that??

but.... was there actually any OTHER evidence after the chat to suggest he was actually going to go through with it? like did the cops find a gun? or the kid confess his intentions to them?

would be interesting to know...

I mean obviously its good they acted the way they did, just thought the story would have mentioned this.

[citation][nom]thackstonns[/nom]Saying you are gonna kill a bunch of people and shoot up a school is a crime in itself... So even if he was just letting off steam, he still commited a crime. I am glad that they acted. I always look at it like this. If you recieved the call and didnt act on it could you live with yourself if it came true?[/citation]

Why not? The US intelligence agencies seem to sleep well at night... (Sept. 11, 2001, and the more recent attempted bombing of an airliner on the way to Detroit Michigan...)

I couldn't agree more with this statement. Just like when a plane crashes every throws up there hands screams..blah blah blah. Yet, many more people die in car crashes each year. But eh who cares right it didn't happen all at once so no biggy.

Now as far as this kid. I would also like to know if they found some other evidance other then talking shit online which could be him just venting so he wouldn't go through with it.

Yes it's great they acted on it. But he should get "the book thrown at him". He should just get help.

[citation][nom]snurp85[/nom]There are some things you dont joke about and shooting up a school is one of them. Its one thing if you say you are going to beat someone up, but its another thing if you say you are going to kill them and a bunch of others and give details about how it will happen. With all of the school shootings that have happened as of late, I am glad the police took action regardless of if the kid was lying or not. No one was hurt and the kid is either off the streets (if he was telling the truth) or he learned a valuable lesson.[/citation]
I agree.

I don't understand how this crap works. How could the kid tell if he was joking or not? They don't even know each other. The kid could totally be faking it, maybe he was trying to mess with the BC's kids head!? I have seen this happen PLENTY of times. Threats, Bullying.. they need to do an investigation FIRST. This is so ridiculous.
