XLR and TRS mics conected at the same time??

Hello Everyone. i have a question.

I'm trying to buy a Cheap PA system. I'm leaning towards http://pro-audio.musiciansfriend.com/product/Phonic-Powerpod-740-Plus-S715-PA-Package?sku=630489.

i know Yamaha is better but I'm short on $$$. its mainly for Sunday church chorus. we have around 5-7 vocals and 1 electro-acoustic guitar and 1 mic for acoustic guitars.

my question is can i connect one mic in the XLR plug and another one or maybe a guitar on the TRS plug. on the same channel?

or would you kindly recommend a budget PA system for my needs?

Hi,

Here's the Powerpod powered series mixer manual:

Try to read it. You'll also find a diagram at page 23.
You can notice that the TRS input will interrupt the XLR signal when a TRS jack is inserted.

Although I don't see the same for the stereo inputs (maybe the diagram is wrong), I don't recommend using both XLR and TRS inputs of a channel in the same time for a couple of reasons - for one, you can't adjust individual characteristics of each input, and second - you may damage the microphones or induce undesired distortions.

If you need more inputs for microphones, consider using a mixer with more inputs.

i did get the manual before, but i never liked those kinds of diagrams, so i skiped that part.

i guess ill by a mixer with more inputs.
