Yahoo has renewed its licensing deal with the Associated Press, however there's no sign of Google or Microsoft.

But as The New York Times points out, Yahoo's news site attracts more traffic than Google News. Google, on the other hand, is much more popular with its search engine.

This last section is totally unrelated to the article(its just some random observation) OR is there any connection??

Sounds like Google and Microsoft are doing some cost cutting to help boost profits. Maybe they have a different news service in mind.

I wouldn't go with the associated press anyway. They have stopped being a news worthy source as their journalism integrity has tanked. Its not at all a valuable unbiased source. Google and Microsoft can probably do better getting local news sources.
