yamaha speaker package for PC

Hello,

I am interested in buying this speaker package for my computer: http/asia.yamaha.com/en/products/audio-visual/speaker-systems/speaker-packages/ns-p160_w/?mode=model

Could I connect it to my sound card directly? I have an asus p9x79 deluxe motherboard with integrated 7.1 sound system.

Do I need to get an amplifier/mixer to use the yamaha sound system? I am asking because I don't see any remote or any buttons to be described as being shipped with.

Yes you would need an amp. Unless you are getting a sweetheart deal on those speakers, I'd suggest that you get powered speakers that are meant to connect directly to the line-out on your computer. They contain the amplifier.
Personally, I'm running Logitech z623 powered speakers, but I got them in the US and they cost about $140: http/www.logitech.com/en-us/product/speaker-system-z623 . They sound great.

Hi, thanks for the answer. I know the z623 logitech speakers, but I want something made out of wood and with a classic look. Could you recommend what should I look for in terms of the amplifier? Should I simply google "desktop amplifier"? Could you recommend a small amp that could nicely fit a desk?

Sorry, I don't know a blessed thing about speaker amps. Headphone amps, I've got two at the moment.
