I wish it was as easy to put your own hard drives in these as it is with the PS3. That would be a hell of a deal. For $150 you could have a 360 with a 250gb hard drive. Damn them and their proprietary hardware.

[citation][nom]ltgrunt[/nom]I was going to go with Target's $30 gift card deal, but $50 beats $30. Looks like I'll be making a stop on the way home from work today.[/citation]

Target matched Walmart's deal. If you go into any store it's a $50 gift card, not $30.

[citation][nom]blasterth[/nom]half RAM of other models, probably can't take Natal![/citation]

Pretty sure that's a 256MB memory card for save files that it comes with, not RAM.

$99 is the price it should be without any "deal". This console is well within the replacement range, should have a replacement price.

I'm thinking a Walmart gift card is worth more than a Target one.

Walmart GCs in small amounts (under say 1k) are basically cash.

Yes you can buy more types of things at Walmart. Plus you can order online...which I did early this morning.

[citation][nom]Shadow703793[/nom]With taxes, it's over $100[/citation]

Correct. $164.61 to be exact. Or $114.61 after you have the gift card but then you'll still be paying tax on everything you buy with that $50 card.

That can't be correct. Assuming I'm understanding you, you'd be paying tax on the $150 and then again on the $50 gift card. I'm not familiar with how gift cards and taxes normally work, but that doesn't seem right.

[citation][nom]gm0n3y[/nom]If only we had a value added tax. Remember to add 15% on top of that $200 for our tax.[/citation]
Ouch! I guess it goes to show, nothing is free, you always pay for it in the end.

[citation][nom]jerreece[/nom]The Arcade has no storage. You have to use memory modules instead.[/citation]Yeah but you can use a cheap USB memory stick too now (up to 16GB per stick, up to 2 sticks installed at a time), which is plenty of storage if you don't download movies/games/expansions. It's enough for all your saved games, music, and some XBL games. If you need more, get a better model or buy/make a HDD.

I'm in Oregon. No sales tax. Neat.

Wait, this is legitimate? I saw the giftcard deal, which wasn't bad. But if the price drop is immediate and giftcard deal still good, I might actually get a 360...

rooket meant that the 360 arcade is $150, you get the gift card free, and when you use the gift card you'll be paying tax on taxable items (i.e. not food) but no tax on the card usage. It's $50 at walmart.com or samsclub.com. sweet deal I just convinced my girlfriend to buy it.
