I really don't get articles like this if we all decided to live in sterile bubbles for the rest of our lives, we pretty much wouldn't have an immune system and couldn't eat anything that hadn't been sterilized in the first place.

[citation][nom]Silmarunya[/nom]A phone and a keyboard are used for long periods, sometimes years on end. I know very few antibacterial substances that last that long, aren't dangerous to human health and don't smell extremely foul. So I doubt these antibacterial properties are more than a marketing gimmick (except for those special ones used in hospitals for example, but many of these require maintenance)[/citation]
The AgION antimicrobial used in Logitech products provides continuous and long-lasting protection from microbes by releasing silver ions to the surface of the keyboard and mouse at a slow and steady rate. The AgION antimicrobial technology is designed to last throughout the life of the products.

We need more exposure to bacteria these day anyway. It's ridiculous how bad allergies and colds get now. I actually believe my older relatives when they say they don't and never had the problems our generation has.

Personally, aside the usual personal hygiene (hands/face/ full body and teeth) I rarely wipe anything down, and I never rewash cups after I use them for water or juice. Why? I have a healthy and strong immune system.

I agree the phones are dirty. I am happy that most of the people would improve their immune system by facing these bacteria and virus. I remember an article which said the baby born through normal delivery vs Cesarean is better equipped with immune system because it faces the bacteria present in the vaginal cavity. But just not to forget. We need to clean our phones every once in a while when we wash our hands with a sanitizer. Dirty hands. Wash hands, hold the same cell u had when ur hands were dirty and the hands are dirty again. So its better to wipe phone with sanitizer every-time we wash our hands.

Well, I don't see this as an issue, after all, everyone knows cellphones are putting out huge amounts of dangerous radiation. That should sterilize them right?

/endsarcasm

Look on the bright side, at least cell phones are cleaner than public phones. Ever got the heebie jeebies when you picked up a public phone back in the old days when there were no cell phones?

I prefer 18 times the dirt of my face than the dirt of someone else's ass...

so how about instead of freaking everyone out, why dont they say what a simple alcohol wipe will do to the solution how much would it kill the germs etc... if they do not give any kind of solution or even a partial one i think its a FAIL and just a scare tactic IMO

I try to wipe my phone down with cloth and use a antibacterial goo to clean the surface every now and then. Not sure if that works but at least I try :)

[citation][nom]Camikazi[/nom]New pick up line? Hey baby let's go share some healthy bacteria *wink*[/citation]
Makes me wonder... (will it work?)... lol

[citation][nom]Gin Fushicho[/nom]Eh..... I spray my phone with Lysol whenever I think I've been somewhere nasty with it.[/citation]

That is just silly. Whats next? you're going to carry some lysol around and spray whatever you touch? like someone else said, bacteria has always been there no matter how far back you go. People lived then, people still live now. This is all just silly fear mongering.

Just wash your damn hands before you shove them in your mouth!
