Question YouTube app closes when I turn off the TV

Whenever I watch the YouTube app on my TV, if I turn the TV off the YouTube app will go back to the main screen. I watch the app on Comcast on a Samsung TV. I have contacted Comcast and YouTube customer service, but neither were helpful. This only happens on my TV. The model number for the TV is LN32B360C5D. Can anyone help me fix this?
