YouTube Explains Why Hitler Vids Were Removed

Some one has to male a hitler bid about this 😀 I love them YouTube bring them back!!!

I figured this would eventually happen.

"Perhaps due to the massive takedowns of Der Untergang videos recently"

I would hope it would be more about how the crappy flagging system is used to false flag, and close accounts down, more then it ever will be use for correct reasons to flag.

Or rather, I suppose the company/group that owns the copyright to the movie Downfall should be the ones looking at legal precedent... m'bad.

So if I understand YouTube's policy: a poster is guilty until they enter a plea of innocent through official channels, at which time we will assume they are innocent...

I guess that is reasonable.

My only disappointment comes from the increasing use of YouTube videos used in mainstream media websites that get pulled down. I really wish news agencies would stop embedding them... its frustrating when a key video is missing from a report.

Agreed! YouTube is not an appropriate site for any workplace and should not be used by professional news organizations as a cheap way to post stuff for free.

What are they complaining about?! It's free advertising for the film. It's only a few clips as short as trailers that were put up, and you always see people asking what film it's from.

Youtube needs to clean up it's act and stop kowtowing to the folks who claim "infringement" on things that are clearly "fair use."

I guess they are trying to protect themselves from stupid lawsuits. In this society one can never be too cautious.

Shame they don't bring down scum bags such as George4title and his little Inflation.us rats for being little pump and dump scammers.

oh FFS!
ok, i can understand its not the property of whoever posts it, but ever get the impression someone doesn't have a sense of humour?
I really enjoyed watching those daft parodies, that and....super funny video game satire which appears to be in short supply...now what am i gonna laugh at?
Bastards!!

I have argued in the book cited below that the Hitler Downfall parodies are of great cultural and political significance. I think that when all this blows over there will still be thousands of Downfall parodies on YouTube.

That's not Hitler at all. That's some jerk dressed like Hitler. Not a bad movie at all though. :)
