I watched the film and the video clips long before the copyright issue surfaced. It seems to me the problem is the video clips are not original productions. Instead, the video clips are modified versions of the actual film. Someone took the original film and changed the subtitles.

[citation][nom]MDillenbeck[/nom]So if I understand YouTube's policy: a poster is guilty until they enter a plea of innocent through official channels, at which time we will assume they are innocent...I guess that is reasonable. My only disappointment comes from the increasing use of YouTube videos used in mainstream media websites that get pulled down. I really wish news agencies would stop embedding them... its frustrating when a key video is missing from a report.[/citation]

i don't think it would really bad that hard for those web developers to upload the video to their servers and embed their own player. Youtube videos should not be allowed to be embedded on commercial sites.

If the Hitler video's don't fall under the category of "parody" (which would make them fair use), then what does?

Also, How nice of Hitler! taking care of those poor poor lobsters in revenge of these awful jews ! (note the sarcasm).

The company that owns the rights is shooting itself in the foot, in stopping the publicity & resulting sales from the numerous parodies. Dude's got an MBA & no common sense.

[citation][nom]kami3k[/nom]I figured this would eventually happen. "Perhaps due to the massive takedowns of Der Untergang videos recently"I would hope it would be more about how the crappy flagging system is used to false flag, and close accounts down, more then it ever will be use for correct reasons to flag.[/citation]

I agree - it would be titled "Hitler finds out he's been removed from youtube"

funnily enough - watching these videos provided me with many hours of laughter - thanks to the people that made them - but to the people trying to stop it - what a bunch of idiots you all are - you clearly dont see the good side to this - after watching these i actually went out and activley sought out the actual movie itself and paid cash moneys for it - and im sure im not th eonly one - so go ahead - shoot yourself in the foot 😉

I'm not sure parody of copyrighted material is legal without consent. Parody of political material absolutely is, but not sure about the private sector stuff. Someone who is more legally knowledgeable should chime in. Either way, it was good publicity for their movie and now its gone. Sad.

[citation][nom]anamaniac[/nom]If I remember correctly, parodies are completely legal under US law.So they fail.[/citation]

You have to remember though its a German film made by a German company, and AFAIK stealing copyrighted material for parodies is not legal in the EU which means these videos will stay down outside of the USA 🙁

You should let the uploader tag the video while uploading, if it contains content thats taken from movies etc and is under fair use. Then if it gets picked up by your content ID methods have a living person see it through and remove if necessary. Not remove first and ask later.
