YouTube videos stop playing after a while

After watching around 5-6 videos on the YouTube app, the video will play for around 3-4 seconds before freezing and only playing audio. Any video I attempt to load after that will not load until I restart my phone. Is there any way of stopping this?

Restart your YouTube (from app settings). Clear chache and data

It's likely due to Google Play updating other apps in the background. Every time an app gets updated, it pauses playback. It's really annoying, but apart from disabling auto-updates, I haven't found a solution yet...
