ZTE grand x max plus won't charge

I bought this phone a little over a year ago around August 2015.

Now the phone won't hold a charge. I spent $270 on this freaking chit and now when I connect it to a new charger it toggles in and out of charging constantly. Even when it says its charging it isn't. It literally has the little charging battery icon up in the coner but when I check its actually depleting in battery life.

I looked up solutions and they all say it's the USB tab in my phone. But then it says I cant open the phone to fix it or replace the battery because the morons designed the phone where you can't open it. And if I try the chit will explode. I fell like I was over charged on a company trying to get rid of defective chitty product. What can I do to fix this? I literally have no money for a new phone and I just paid the months service on this one and can't even use it

I seriously doubt it would explode if you tried to open it up. Sadly they may tell you something along those lines (or make it seem like it) due to wanting to get you to spend money to get it fixed, or better yet spend money on a new phone.

Since I am assuming the phone is no longer under warranty. If it is then you need to contact the manufacturer. If it isn't then here are a couple of videos that will walk you through opening it up to do work like replacing the battery or even taking it totally apart.
