Clean Windows Registry Using BitDefender Total Security

As the name of the application suggests, BitDefender Total Security is a complete security tool for your computer. When talking about the security of a computer, it does not only mean protection against viruses or intrusions, but it also means that all your system files remain protected from getting corrupted as well.

Since the BitDefender Total Security is a versatile security program, it also has a built-in feature that allows you to clean the Windows registry in case you think that it has been overpopulated with unwanted threads, keys, DWORDs, or orphan entries.

Just like any other sophisticated application that is designed to work with the Windows protected system files, even the BitDefender Total Security also requires elevated privileges (administrative rights on the computer) in order to access the Windows registry during the registry cleanup process.

Even if you are logged on to the Windows using administrator account, if you have installed the BitDefender Total Security on Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8 operating system, you still require the elevated privileges to clean the Windows registry.

Once the BitDefender Total Security built-in registry cleaner is initialized with the administrative rights, you can use it to clean the Windows registry without any further obstructions or issues.

Here is how you can perform the above mentioned task:

■Using the administrator account, log on to the computer whose Windows registry you want to clean.
