Along with several robust features already available, your iPhone’s camera can also work as QR Code Scanner, and the function is enabled by default in iOS 12.
However, if you have upgraded from an older version of iOS, the option may be disabled. If that’s the case, here’s how you can enable QR Code Scanner in your iPhone camera:
- ■Get to the Settings window
Tap Settings from the Home screen. This opens the Settings window. From here you can configure and manage almost all your iPhone settings.
■Get to the Camera settings window
Tap Camera on the Settings window. This opens the Camera settings window. From here you can configure various settings for the Camera app such as change the format of the images and video that it captures, disable auto HDR, etc.
■Enable QR Code Scanner
Turn on the Scan QR Codes switch on the Camera window. This enables the QR Code Scanner for your iPhone’s Camera app. From this point onward, you can launch Camera on your phone, focus on the QR Code, and follow the on-screen instructions to view or access the information protected behind it.
