How to Prevent People From Finding Your IP Address via Skype
Introduction
Head on over and use a "Skype Resolver" these resolvers can find your IP address by contacting your skype even if you don't even allow it! In this tutorial we are going to prevent them from being able to do this.
Step 1
First off, Check if your IP is resolvable. Link is not provided as it could go against the rules of Tom's Hardware but it's okay, we don't need it for this tutorial. This tutorial will make your Internet experience safer and dox free.
Step 2
Let's go to our Skype and go to Tools --> Options.
Step 3
Head on over to Advanced --> Connection
Step 4
Tick the box that says "Allow direct connections to your contacts only" This makes it so that only people you've accepted to your contacts can contact you. Meaning your IP address is no longer grab-able to the public.
Recap
You should be good to go. If your IP is already resolved... Turn off your router overnight and you'll be assigned a new one!
