The Roku remote is a brilliant device and you can do almost everything on your Roku device using it. But it can become irresponsive at times due to a failed connection or synchronization with your Roku device. This can be fixed by resetting your Roku remote, and you can do it by following these simple steps.
1.) Remove the Battery Lid and Batteries
Remove the rear battery lid on your remote and take out the batteries. The remote will be turned off. It is now ready to be reset and repaired.
2.) Power Down Roku
Remove the power plug from your Roku device, and wait for 5-10 seconds. This will allow Roku to power down completely.
3.) Plug in Roku
Now, plug your Roku device into the power outlet. The Roku home screen will appear on your TV display.
4.) Put Back Remote Batteries
Place the batteries back into the battery compartment. Your remote will now be powered.
5.) Press the 'Reset' Button
After removing the lid, you will notice a small 'Reset' button just below the battery compartment. Hold it for about 10 seconds, or until you see the pairing light on your remote flash. This pairing light will either be alongside the reset button or at the front of the Roku remote. This lets you know the pairing process has been initiated on the remote’s end.
6.) Wait for A Minute or So
After the pairing light flashes, wait for about a minute. Do not use your remote or Roku during this time. You will soon see a reset/pairing screen appear on the display. Let the process complete. Once it does, your remote is reset, and ready to use again.
Your Roku remote synchronisation and connection problems will be solved after following the above steps.
