The Orbit Downloader application has a special feature which, when enabled, automatically initializes the installed anti-virus program and scans the downloaded files for viruses. With the help of this feature, you, as an end-user, can stay relaxed and assured that any file that you are downloading from the Internet would remain virus free.

When the downloaded files are scanned for the viruses, in case any of the downloaded file contains any virus, as per the efficiency of the installed anti-virus program, the infected file is either cleaned or it is removed from the computer permanently.

Although you might find it difficult to download the files as many of them would be automatically removed due to this automated scanning process, this approach ensures that your system remains free from viruses and/or other harmful and malicious elements that might be downloaded along with the source files.

Enabling the above feature in your instance of Orbit Downloader is an easy task to perform. However you must ensure that the anti-virus that your computer system has is strong and efficient enough to detect almost all kinds of harmful objects that are present out there on the Internet. In order to maintain the efficiency of the anti-virus that is installed on your computer, make sure that it is regularly updated and has all the security updates and patches installed.

After following the instructions in this tutorial, you will be able to enable your instance of Orbit Downloader to automatically scan for the downloaded files for viruses.

Here is what you need to do:

■Log on to the computer on which Orbit Downloader is installed.

■Initialize the Orbit Downloader program if it was not already started during the Windows boot process.

■Once initialized, right-click the Orbit Downloader icon in the system tray at the bottom right corner of the computer screen.

■From the displayed context menu, go to Preferences.

■On the opened Preferences box, from the left pane, click to select the Anti-Virus category.

■From the right pane, check the Use the virus scanner to scan the downloaded files checkbox.

■Click the Browse button that gets enabled after checking the checkbox.

■On the opened Open box, browse and locate the executable (.exe) file of the anti-virus program installed on your computer system.

■Once located, click the Open button.

■Back on the Preferences box, click OK to save the changes that you have made.

■Once done, restart the Orbit Downloader application in order to allow the changes to take effect.
