To watch Netflix in a good resolution for a big screen - like 1080p - you will have to use the buggy app that only works in Microsoft Edge. Forget about it if you have a Mac. According to Statcounter, 59.69% of the market is under the dominion and frequent use of Google Chrome. But it is possible to watch Netflix in 1080p in your favorite browser. Just follow these simple steps to enjoy your favorite series hassle-free.

1. Download the extension
If you are a Google Chrome user you can download ‘Netflix 1080p’. For Firefox it’s ‘Force 1080p playback for Netflix’. Once you have downloaded the one that suits you best, install it on your device.

2. Bring the resolution bitrate menu
The keyboard shortcut is Ctrl+Alt+Shift+S to bring up the resolution menu. Start a Netflix show that’s available in 1080p HD. Once the show screen appears, bring up the menu to choose the resolution that suits you best.

3. Choose the best option for you
Once the menu is up, you need to choose the most suitable option for you. The menu has three columns to choose from. The available bitrates for the current show is in the middle one.
