I worked at Comcast in IP Tech Support and you can bet your ass they screw with their customers like this. Comcast sucks and if they didn't have a monopoly on speed here in Utah I would leave them in a heartbeat. I hate Comcast.

That's an excellent point. Perhaps I should clarify what I meant. The original article was full of 'nothing bad will ever happen ever' and that part was redacted. The actual scientists have taken over the article as you said, good reminder.

This is old tech with a new coat of bad paint. It never took hold previously because this is bad tech. You are using something (power grid in your home) for something it wasn't intended for (internet traffic) and people are surprised when it doesn't work.
