Apple Announces iPad 2 with Dual-core Processor

Gosh, no 3D and no foldable 40" display? FAIL!!!!!! (j/k) To me the changes are significant enough and it's the first iPad I am planning to own. Yes, there will be better ones and worse ones ... blah, blah, blah ... but it fits my needs best and for anything more serious I'll rely on my Windows...

Apple Source: iPad 2 is Boring, iPad 3 is Exciting

Looking forward to the announcement, but I doubt Apple is essentially introducing a new model and follow up with a cooler design the same day (albeit available later) to stifle sales of the 2nd gen model. I will wait for Gen 3 if it really seems much better, and is announced today as well.

Man Loses $200,000 to Fake Online Girlfriend

Ouch. In a relationship but never seen her? Frankly, what's the point of THAT relationship? Besides, Nigeria? BIG red flag anyway!

Dunhill's Biometric Wallet Only Opens for You

george21546for that kind of money it should have a tazer that goes off when it's 5' away from the phone. Now imagine: (1) Spouse asks for phone to call friend and wanders off. -or- (2) You forget phone in the car and walk off to the store. ... Either case, you get zapped! ... Sounds fun. ;-)

Dunhill's Biometric Wallet Only Opens for You

Intrigued by the BT feature, though the price and what looks to be a potentially rigid case would be deal breakers for me -- not to mention that paying $825 to protect a rather limited amount of money in MY wallet seems a bit overkill. Mike00LOL something else to charge at night, I mean come on...

Digital Music Price Fixing Suit Moves Ahead

bejabbersdo torrents still work? Yep! So this doesn't concern me.... or well most smart people. I guess it's totally "smart" not to pay for other's work since you probably don't take a dime for yours, right.? Must be nice not to have bills to pay and getting everything for free. (yeah right.)

Google's Stunning Real-Time Voice Translation App

dragonsqrrlI think I understand what you're trying to say, but you somehow managed to say it in a profoundly arrogant and offensive way. English may be somewhat easy to pick up, but it can be pretty difficult to master. Totally agree. English is relatively simplistic at first (at least for me...

Apple to Remove Home Button from Next iPhone?

Gosh, 8 spams in a row! Who actually buys stuff that way, since if nobody did they probably wouldn't bother. Anyway, gestures instead of a home button? It's all doable. However, the home button will remain in some fashion, since it does multiple things and one of them can't be done by...

    Microsoft Working on FaceTime Competitor

Like it or not, Microsoft business as usual: "Copy and conquer." Besides every phone should have the capability regardless of OS and Skype already does video call over 3G network with the potential to be independent from OS. Does MS really need their own niche?

Know Video Games? Name All These Consoles!

I am personally fond of the inclusion of Commodore's Amiga (and C64). A great example for mismanaged technology. Mid 80s was a great time for C= and the OS and hardware of the Amiga were very promising. However, the advantages (graphics, multitasking) quickly vanished due to a rigid hardware...

U.S. Soldier in Afghanistan Got $16,000 AT&T Bill

Well, I guess it works at least once. The next guy will have to think of a different scheme. I mean, you can hardly do anything INSIDE the US for $5. Then again, "a young soldier with minimal experience" ... so he's like 16 and still on dad's bill?

Riven Arrives for iOS Weighing Over 1 GB

Okay, so I was hooked on Myst years ago, and even bought the iPhone version not too long ago. Frankly, it's showing its age and replaying the same game in a different format doesn't really do it for me either. It was great at the time since you were able to get amazing visuals despite graphics...

Is This the Smallest Legible Font? Try Reading It

railgun1369Tighter pixel density is the answer. Let's see a 24" monitor with the same density as the new iPhone (as an example). Nowhere close. The typical desktop monitor is 96 dpi (even the 24 inch Samsung I'm using right now). The Retina display is 326 dpi. But you may have meant resolution...

Is This the Smallest Legible Font? Try Reading It

Wow, it's actually more legible in small form than magnified. Whatever one needs this for, as resolution goes up. It would have been great years ago when we were stuck with low resolution screens. Imagine this on a Retina display. Ouch!

The Beatles Come to iTunes After Nearly 10 Years

Yaaayyy!!!! ... er, I mean yawn, seriously. (I guess since I don't "own" a single Beatles song, now may be a good time to get them all. Yeah right.) I guess for some it's big news, but those already have probably every possible copy of all songs twice (vinyl and CD).
