what does a firewire look like

Tom and associates, Is there any way to have one cable that comprises full size usb plug and, on the other end a full size firewire plug, both female?

I have a laptop with a mini firewire and would like to transfer some video into the the firewire from a dvd player. The DVD player only has RCA plugs and HDMI. Are there cables or interface devices that allow me to do this? Anyone have a better suggestion?
